ENVER SEDAT’IN ÖLDÜRÜLMESİ - CAMP DAVİD

Kendisiyle dirsek temasındaki “ılımlı İhvan” bile Camp David Barış Anlaşması’nın en hassas noktası olan Filistin sorununun çözümü konusunda hayal kırıklığı içindeydi. (Bu anlaşmayla Filistin topraklarının %78’i resmen İsrail’e bırakılıyordu.) Hal böyleyken, El Ezher, Sedat’ın zorlamasıyla 1979’da, barış girişimleri konusunda onun politikalarını tasdik eden bir fetva yayınladı. Bu, “ılımlı” Müslüman Kardeşler açısından bir kırılma noktası oldu. Ve onlar da pek çok konuda Sedat’a muhalefet yapmaya başladılar.

 Süreç, Müslüman Kardeşler’in sokaktan, hatta parlamento dan alınıp yeniden hapishanelere gönderilmesi şeklinde ilerledi. ABD ve İsrail’den gelen baskılar sonucunda 2000’i aşkın İhvancı hapse atıldı. Bu sertlik karşılığını bulmada gecikmedi. 1981 yılında Mısır’ın kurtuluşunun kutlandığı bir törende El Cihat üyesi bir yüzbaşı olan Halid Ahmed El Şevki İslambuli önderliğindeki bir grup asker Enver Sedat’a suikast düzenledi. Suikastta Sedat hayatını kaybetti.
